When the answer looks wrong

Check the source rows, look at the step, then ask again with the exact column names. Do not save a result you have not checked.

First, look at the source

Select the number that looks wrong. Dataweaver shows the rows or the page it came from. Often the data is what is wrong, not the answer: a duplicate row, a date typed as text, a total that included a cancelled invoice.

Then look at the step

Open the step where the number was made. Read what Weaver did. If it used the wrong column, or the wrong meaning of a word, you will see it there.

Then ask again

  • Use the column names exactly as they appear in your file.
  • Say what you mean by a word. "Paid means the Paid on column is not empty."
  • Say what the result should look like. "One row per customer, sorted by amount, largest first."
  • Try Expert for a messy file.

If a run fails

Weaver usually fixes its own mistakes and tries again. If it gives up, it tells you why in plain words. Ask again, or send the message to us from the contact page with the file name and what you asked.

Your original file is untouched. A wrong answer costs you nothing except the run. Just do not save the result.
