Install and sign in

Download Dataweaver for Windows or Mac, open it, and sign in with Google or an email address. Free, no card needed.

Download

Go to dataweaverapp.com and press Download. The site picks Windows or Mac for you.

  • Windows 10 or 11. Open the downloaded file and follow the steps. Windows may ask if you trust the app. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
  • Mac with Apple chip (M1 or newer). Open the downloaded file and drag Dataweaver into Applications. The first time, macOS may say the app is from an unknown developer. Go to System Settings, then Privacy and Security, then press Open Anyway. This happens once.
There is no version for older Intel Macs or for Linux yet.

Press Sign in with Dataweaver. Your web browser opens. Choose Continue with Google, or type an email address and password. When you are done, the browser sends you back to the app.

You need to sign in because Weaver, the assistant inside Dataweaver, does its thinking with the help of AI services on the internet. Your files stay on your computer. What leaves your computer explains this in full.

The first minute

The first time you open the app, Weaver sets itself up. This can take a few minutes. You can watch the progress at the bottom of the window. If it fails, the app tells you why in plain words and offers Try again.

While you wait, take the short tour. It has five steps and uses a real file. To see it again later, open the Help menu and choose Show Me Around.

What is free

The Free plan gives you 30 runs a month. A run is one question you ask Weaver. Opening files, sorting, filtering and your own edits never count and are always free. No card is needed. Your runs and your plan has the details.
